BERNINA CLUB 2012

Bernina Club is a monthly  sewing club for anyone who owns a Bernina. 
This is a demonstration only event where you will be shown interesting craft and sewing techniques. Receive 4 Bernina Inspirational magazines as well as notes on everything you are shown.  Throughout the year guest tutors will demonstrate their specialised methods.  This is a great way to be with likeminded sewing enthusiasts and learn to use the full potential of your machines.
As well as having Bernina Club in Tauranga, we also teach Bernina Club at Tirau Quilt Cottage and Te Aroha Quilt and Craft on Tuesdays.
Fee is $80.00 for the year which includes a 10% discount loyalty card for Bernina Tauranga store.

BERNETTE CLUB 2012

Bernette Club is a hands-on sewing group.  You will learn new projects and how to use your machine to its full potential. So bring along your machines, sew in a group and learn tips and tricks.
As a member of the Bernette Club you also get a 10% discount card for our store and you will be the first to hear about any specials we are having instore.

Fee for the year is $50.00.  All classes held at Bernina Tauranga on Fridays 11:30am - 1:30pm

ADULTS BASIC SEWING CLASSES

A great class for beginners. Learn to use multi-size patterns and lots of basic techniques.
Secure your place in the class with a $30.00 deposit, balance due a prior to class starting.
We have sewing machines and overlockers for you to use during the class.
Bring along a pattern and suitable fabric with matching thread and your own Bernina Bobbin.
We sell Kwik Sew and New Look patterns which are great for beginners.
During the course you get a 10% discount on all purchases in store.

Four sessions on Monday or Wednesday nights 5:30 – 7:30pm. The tuition fee is $120.00.

STUDENT SEWING CLASSES

A class for students aged 12 and over with any skill level of sewing from beginner to advanced.
Held on Thursdays after school from 4:00 – 6:00pm.
This class is held in 4 week blocks and the fee is $80.00

PATCHWORK STRIP CLUB
Free lesson.  Come and learn how to sew wonderful quilt blocks using 2 ½ inch strips of fabric.  Every month you will learn a new block and quilting tips and tricks.

PATCHWORK AND QUILTING GROUP
This is an informal group on Tuesdays from 1.00 - 3.00pm.
Come to which ever days suit you, and pay $25.00 each time. 
Bring existing projects or start new ones. 

Fee for each class is $25.00.  All classes held at Bernina Tauranga on Tuesdays 1:00pm - 3:00pm.

BASIC PATCHWORK CLASSES
A beginner class to teach you construction and finishing techniques. You can work from our basic 9 block patchwork and applique pattern, or your own basic design.  Come in before the class starts to choose your fabrics. 

Classes are held on a Tuesday morning from 9.30 - 12.30am for 4 sessions. Course cost is $120.00

OVERLOCKER CLASS

If you have brought a Bernina overlocker this is a free class to learn how to use your new machine.  The class will cover threading, tension and the stitches available on your machine.  Be sure to get your name down as spaces fill fast. Please bring your own machine and threads.

There is no charge for this class with purchase of Bernina Overlocker. This class is from 9:30am till 12:30pm.

2012 dates: Friday May 4th and Thursday May 24th.

 MACHINE EMBROIDERY

This is held once a month using your own embroidery machine used for making projects with like-minded sewing enthusiasts. This is $50.00 a year tuition only price.

SIT AND STITCH

This class is held once every two weeks and is a class where you sit and hand stitch with other sewers. This has a $5.00 donation with tea and coffee provided.

Classes fortnightly starting the 25th of May. 

BERNINA 8 SERIES CLASS

This class is a get together with other 820 and 830 machine owners and is a question and answer time with inspirational ideas and uses for your machine with Robyn. This is a free class held on Fridays.

2012 Dates: February 10th, March 2nd, April 13th, May 11th, June 29th, July 6th, August 3rd, September 7th, October 26th, November 9th.

HAND EMBROIDERY

A selection of hand embroidery classes are available all year round. These classes are on Monday mornings 9:30 till 12:30pm. Look at our calendar of classes to see when these are commencing. A 3 week course will cost approximately $70.00 tuition only.

Casalguidi Embroidery Class- This is a 3 week course held on Mondays from 9:30am until 12:30pm. The cost is a $70.00 tuition only fee.

2012 Dates: 20th of February, 5th and the 19th of March.

CHRISTMAS CLASS

From May till December Christmas class will be held once a month on Saturday mornings. Come and finish your U.F.O’s (Un-Finished Objects) for Christmas 2012 or get inspired for the festive season to come.

UPHOLSTERY CLASS

Come and learn to recover your favourite chair, cover cushions, squabs and much more!

SEWING MACHINE CLASS

Come to Bernina and learn (or re-learn) how to use your machine. $15 a morning tuition only.

2012 Dates:

A class is being held for anybody whom has purchased a Bernina 330. You can either bring your own machine or we may be able to supply you with one. This is a class to learn your machine and the different techniques stitches etc that it is capable. This a a free class being held on the 23rd of March from 11:00am until 12:00pm.

MENDING CLASS

Use the machines at Bernina to learn how to do your mending yourself, hem your pants, sew in a zip etc. Classes are only $10 an hour.
